3. The routes
Each route is self-guided with no way markings saying ‘Mills n Moors route’
You will receive all gpx route files in the week leading up to the event
We ride on bridleways, farmers tracks, forest trails, urban greenways and the canal towpath
The routes are 80% ‘off-road’ on grass, gravel, peat and stone
All the routes are 95% ride able in winter conditions as we have selected hard packed gravel tracks but on both the January and February events there are two very steep tracks where most riders will be pushing their bikes uphill
Its your choice which route to ride as any type of bike is fine on each route
Minimum age of 12 years old when accompanied by a parent / guardian
4. The ride
The rides on the 'Mills n Moors Series' are a personal challenge.
They are not races and there is no ‘mass start' as riders sign on and depart when they are ready
Some downhill and uphill sections are physically challenging and if uncertain of your ability its best to get off and push
There are tracks across open moorland often with their own climate so appropriate layers and waterproofs are vital
A list of kit that you should carry is at the foot of this page
