The Pennine Skyline explores three landscapes - the Calder, Ribblehead and Howgills - by linking together bridleways and green lanes over the May Spring Bank Holiday.
We have event hubs in three Pennine towns - Mytholmroyd, Settle and Sedbergh - with three routes from each event hub.
From each town we use our local knowledge to put you on classic tracks and hidden ‘off-road’ gems across three landscapes in the north of England that are unrivaled for their natural beauty, historical importance and cultural diversity.
There is the option to ride the Calder Skyline as a one day event on Saturday 2nd May.
The Pennines are uncomplicated hills with a north-south range along the backbone of the north of England. What they lack in lofty summits they excel in skylines of steep scars, tumbling screes, limestone ridges, gritstone terraces and semi-wild dark moors of mosses, peat hags and deep pools which, though treeless, hide in their folds vibrant cloughs where gnarled hawthorn, hazel, oak and alder gather together in the company of clear fast flowing streams. Across this weathered landscape there are tracks and lanes which we connect to make adventure trails.
