One day gravel and mtb event taking riders out into the Upper Calder Valley on tracks and green lanes on the moors and valleys slopes between Hebden Bridge, Todmorden and Haworth with riders on the long route heading over to Mirfield and back.
Route options vary from the 58km (MTB) and 77km (MTB) that take riders onto a mix of fast rolling tracks and rougher moorland tracks with the very steep and rough track that is Bodkin Lane. The 77km MTB varies to the 58km as it heads further north and through a hidden clough / through a wide stream and onto tracks into Haworth.
The 68km (GRVL) and 81km (GRVL) options takes rides on tracks that are well maintained and in good condition even after a long wet winter. Both routes go to the ‘Top of the Stairs’ and a steep descent back to the Calder Valley. The 81km heads through the ancient hamlet of Wycoller with its packhorse bridge and onto more grass tracks and deep holloways to enter Haworth. The 29km (GRVL) stays within close reach of Hebden Bridge.
For a challenging ride there is the 100km and 144km route with several demanding climbs and descents (but all on tracks that are fine on a gravel bike with 45mm tyres but probably more fun on a mtb).
The Calder Skyline event is part of a long weekend of three events with start lines in Settle to ride the Yorkshire Dales on Sunday 3rd May and Sedbergh to ride the Howgills on Monday 4th May. The event is called the Pennine Skyline

Short Route Option: 29km
This 29km / 18 miles short route will also go out as a GPX file but it is not included on the main Calder Skyline map as the film clips and photos I’ve used to promote the Calder Skyline are of tracks solely on the 55km to 144km routes. The tracks on this 29km route have been used on the Mills n Moors event and are all very accessible and fun to ride on a gravel or mtb.
